Who are we?

Yinson GreenTech is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yinson Holdings Berhad, a public limited liability company, incorporated and domiciled in Malaysia, and listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.

YGT is a green technologies solutions provider delivering clean, integrated and technology-enhanced ecosystems and services across the marine, mobility and infrastructure segments.

YGT's strategic investments currently include an advanced hydrofoil system for electric vessels, e-bikes with swappable batteries, autonomous technology for electric vehicles and vessels, marine energy storage solutions and electric vehicle charging.

YGT currently has five main brands: MarinEV, ChargEV, DrivEV, RydeEV and DigitalEV.

The Junior Counsel role is responsible for supporting the legal team in drafting legal documentation, legal research, and legal administrative work.

This role requires a minimum of 2 years PQE as a paralegal, legal counsel, or in a similar role.

This role will work with the legal team to assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, drafting and updating legal document templates, conducting legal research, and setting up and updating the legal documents registry and SOP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the legal team to provide comprehensive legal support and administrative assistance.
  • File, archive and maintain organized and up-to-date records of legal documents ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and other legal correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws.
  • Communicate with various departments within the company to gather information and provide updates.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal department, including scheduling meetings and deadlines.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of legal training programs and initiatives to enhance legal awareness among company employees.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal presentations, and materials for internal stakeholders and external parties as required.
  • Conduct legal research to provide insightful analysis on a wide range of legal matters relevant to the business of the Company.
  • Undertake assignments on an ad hoc basis as required.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience (minimum of 2 years) as a paralegal, legal counsel or in a similar role, preferably within a corporate or legal environment.
  • A solid grasp of legal principles and foundations in law is essential.
  • Proficient in conducting legal research and using legal databases.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
