What you'll bring to the team:
We have an exciting opportunity for a LEGO Model Designer to join the team and create innovative designs for our LEGOLAND parks

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Create LEGO model designs for the LEGOLAND Parks and Discovery Centers.
  • Design in accordance to the Merlin guidelines, LEGO & LEGOLAND IP, brand guidelines, and Design Briefs.
  • Design output is to consist of LEGO Design drawings and written document of LEGO models so that they can be installed & maintained easily by customer or install team.
  • Be creative & innovative while producing designs that are cost effective and enhance the guest experience.
  • Design LEGO models on time, on budget, and to Merlin quality & safety standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures model designs are consistent with the LEGO brand and are safe for guest interaction.
  • Complete understanding and population of model brief, supporting documentation and budgets to aid all departments.
  • Design 2D and 3D LEGO models using prototype 3D modelling & LEGO specific software.
  • Work with Technical Department to ensure integration of the special effects within the LEGO model.
  • Ensures all LEGO models are designed to be safely installed with mínimal cost.
  • Provide ongoing support to our regional attractions.
  • Delivering new and refreshing LEGO scenes and stories whilst following the agreed brief and layout design vision.
  • Liaises with the LEGO brick stock team to ensure levels of stock are in line with design of LEGO model.
  • Works as part of a global team across different cultures utilising various communication platforms and skills.

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITES

  • Design to budget using the Merlin 'Capital Efficiency' initiative design various types of LEGO models ensuring they do not exceed the budget.
  • Considers new and creative design and production methods to increase product quality and cost efficiency.
  • Complete and submit project tracking reports on a weekly basis.
  • Provide support in the costing process is needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Experience with 2D & 3D modelling or design.
  • Knowledge of production process and/or architectural understandings is a bonus.
  • Preferred knowledge of LEGO bricks and LEGO legal building techniques.
  • Analytical thinking skills and attention to detail with innovative thinking process that is flexible and open to change.
  • Cultural awareness and knowledge for the APAC and Western regions
