The Demand Planning Lead APAC will be responsible for demand management and forecasting activities, ensuring that short, medium and long term forecasts are accurate across the APAC area.

This includes capturing historical trends, managing exceptions, and creating and maintaining forecast models incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance and other sources.


In managing these inputs, the Demand Planning Lead is ultimately accountable for presenting a total demand picture for APAC and driving collaboration between demand stakeholders within the integrated business planning process.


The Demand Planning Lead will look to review and improve relevant processes and procedures related to the Demand Planning function and will drive continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Tasks:

  • Responsible for facilitating the Demand Planning process for APAC and ensuring the system accurately reflects the latest demand plan
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, interpret baseline forecast data developed from statistical forecast models, and provide market intelligence inputs
  • Coordinate crossfunctional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Engage with supply chain and new product development teams to drive focus on products with key growth factors and operational constraints.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Assist with design and implementation of demand planning tools.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in creating the supply plan and developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product rationalisations
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning
  • Reporting as part of the APAC Demand Planning process on forecast accuracy and implementing changes to improve forecast accuracy over time
  • Working with the commercial team to review and improve the forecast model
  • Undertaking adhoc pieces of analysis to continuously improve the tools and processes we use to forecast
  • Scenario planning to review risks/opportunities in the demand plan
  • Coordinating closely with the Supply Chain to ensure we trade existing stock levels to meet any variations in the demand plan
  • Working closely across the business on order fulfilment implications of any short term forecast change
  • Collaborate across One Elanco to optimize the Integrated Business Planning process including inventory governance, supply chain planning, financial planning, service delivery
  • Drive to meet/exceed key performance metrics for the integrated business planning process
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the demand plan
