Job Summary:
A barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee and other beverages to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Beverages:

Prepare and serve a range of coffee, tea, and other beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and iced drinks, according to customer preferences and established recipes.


Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide a friendly, efficient, and personalized service experience. Address customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally.

Quality Control:
Ensure that beverages are consistently made to the highest quality and presentation standards. Monitor product freshness and quality.

Maintain Equipment:
Keep coffee and espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment clean and in working order. Report any equipment issues to the manager.

Cash Handling:
Handle cash and card transactions accurately and maintain an organized cash register. Give correct change and provide receipts as needed.

Stock and Inventory:
Restock coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies as necessary. Maintain proper inventory levels and report any shortages to management.

Cleanliness:
Keep the work area, including countertops, utensils, and equipment, clean and sanitized at all times. Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines.

Menu Knowledge:
Stay informed about the menu, including seasonal offerings, and provide recommendations to customers based on their preferences.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a barista is preferred but not always required.
  • Knowledge of different coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate a cash register.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

Team Coordination:
Coordinate the efforts of waitstaff and buspersons, ensuring a well-organized and efficient dining experience for guests.

Order Management:
Relay orders accurately to the kitchen and bar, ensuring that food and drinks are prepared and served promptly.

Quality Assurance:
Monitor food quality, presentation, and timeliness to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards.

Problem Resolution:

Address guest concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner, seeking to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the guest.


Table Maintenance:
Oversee table setup, cleanliness, and proper utensil placement. Ensure the dining area is presentable at all times.

Knowledge:

Have a strong understanding of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guest questions and make recommendations.


Billing and Payments:
Provide guests with accurate bills, process payments, and handle cash and credit card transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the restaurant industry is often required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities to coordinate the frontofhouse team effectively.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and guest service.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints with professionalism.
