Public Relations & Corporate Affairs (Marketing & Communications)

Plan, implement and evaluate approved corporate communications' strategies/framework/ campaigns/programmes (internal and external) in line with the Group's/Bank's business strategies and brand values.

a) Media Management

  • Assist with media management and manage and drive all media initiatives to ensure that the Bank is profiled positively in the media.
  • Plan, organise and manage media-related events such as product launches, signing ceremonies, press conferences, media briefings, etc.
  • Evaluate publicity opportunities and assist in developing key messages for media opportunities, e.g. media interviews, media briefings, media enquiries, etc.
  • Develop communication materials such as news releases, factsheets, Q&A briefing documents, spokesperson speeches, etc.
  • Monitor the Bank's media coverage to measure media effectiveness and for competitive PR analysis.

b) Financial Communications/Publications (Internal/External)

  • Develop, edit, manage and publish the Bank's financial results announcement and update all relevant materials across all different channels for internal and external audience.
  • Assist in managing all aspects in relation to the publication of the Bank's Annual Report.

c) PR/Corporate Events (Internal/External)

  • Develop, implement and manage PR/Media events for the Bank to support corporate and business strategies and brand values according to the agreed timeline, within budget and quality standards.
  • Manage and implement cost-effective internal events/relations, and ensure that it does not exceed the budget.

d) Issues Management/Crisis Communications

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive issues management and/or crisis communication plan that includes spokesperson training, media backgrounder, holding statements, etc. to ensure key message consistency and minimise reputational loss to the Group and/or the Bank. (Subject to Board/Group CEO's approval

f) Thought-Leadership Platform

  • Source and/or evaluate thought-leadership platform opportunities for the Bank's appointed spokesperson(s).
  • Assist in editing materials for thought-leadership platform opportunities, e.g. presentation deck, speeches, editorial articles, etc.
  • Consolidate, evaluate and/or edit award submissions and submit the Bank's nominations to the award organisers.
  • Proactively facilities award nominations and submissions between Bank and organiser.

g) Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure Bank-wide adherence to brand compliance, i.e. consistency of brand vision and attributes, key message, positioning, tone and manner across all forms of communication materials via Publication & Communication (PCM) Sign-off Sheet.
  • Provide support for CORM activities as and when required.
  • Manage the performance of all appointed agencies, suppliers and/or vendors to ensure that communication programmes/activities/campaigns are implemented to desired goals and following brand guidelines.
  • Assist with the planning, monitoring and evaluation of Group Communications' overhead budget, budgets undertaken, and to ensure that expenditure is consistent with budget allocated.

Job Requirements:

a) Knowledge

  • Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge of communications-related work including development of publications such as newsletters, web-based portals, social media channels, and content development (writing).

b) Skill Sets

  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent people and project management skills, with strong ability to multitask, plan, and organise.
  • Self-motivated, and able to think creatively and critically to initiate innovative communications programmes.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to plan and organise communication and corporate event programmes, complemented by good project management, time management, as well as clear and concise writing skills.
  • Ability to develop proactive programmes to engage internal and external parties for better implementation of communication programmes and media opportunities.

c) Experience

  • At least 5 years of related professional experience in communications, especially in internal and/or external communications.
