BowerBird is looking for an
experienced Ruby on Rails Back-end developer to join our fully remote, fun, and productive dev team.

As a
Ruby on Rails Back-end Developer at BowerBird, you will have supervised ownership over key features of our app.

This means you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and showcase your skills.

You are a member of a team, not a cog in a machine.

Our Dev team follows a fast-paced development process called skateboarding, where we deploy at least once a day.

This means you can shut down your computer each day knowing you've taken at least one step (and sometimes big leaps) forward.

Overall strategy and planning is guided by a north star, rather than overly managed multi-month projects.

We stay ahead of the curve and continuously improve our platform.

Key Requirements

  • Min 4 years experience with
  • Rails (Ruby on Rails)
  • HTML
  • Javascript
  • Back and Frontend experience required.
  • Good eye for aesthetics: layout, grid systems, colours, and typography.
  • Ability to complete features independently.
  • Ability to complete features from a sketch idea. (We do not use overly detailed figma designs or complex scheduling tools)
  • Good online communication skills, specifically Slack chats and video calls.
  • Ability to have fun while working hard. (Building things can be hard. Not laughing while doing it, makes it even harder,)
