Responsibilities

Planning & budgeting

  • Take part in tender preparation in reviewing project budgets, staffing and work plans to guarantee appropriate fees.
  • Review the budget of projects, plan costs and project cash flows, and communicate with stakeholders for monitoring and controlling. Prepare annual budgets (plan) and quarterly forecasts (outlook).
  • Translate project working capital financial information and support the project team.

Cost accounting and controlling

  • Work with available tools to track actual costs, including manpower effort, equipment usage, procured resources, etc. Identify, analyse and assess the commercial risks of projects with regard to the execution.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review certain 3rd party project costs such as subcontractor, transportation and logistics.

Analysis & appraisal

  • Analyse cost run rates and variations to extrapolate/forecast total costs, as well as report findings to the program manager, project office, and any financial oversight governance.
  • Support projects' monthly/quarterly forecast for revenue, COGS, margin, asset management and reporting by the customer as well as perform inventory costing maintenance/simulation and variance analysis where needed.
  • Review account totals related to project assets and expenses.

Billing & collection

  • Monitor billing status of all projects, and be responsible for monthly closing of WIP reporting in preparing accruals for completed jobs that are not billed yet.
  • Ensure complete, timely and accurate billings of projects as well as management of cash flow. Monitor accounts receivable, and support project managers with collection efforts.
  • Assess and pursue opportunities for optimisation of billing.

Closure

  • Review and identify projects that require closure. Work with the project management team to ensure costs have been captured properly before closing out key projects.
  • Consolidate the financial or commercial overview and contribute to lessons learnt at the closure review meeting.

Business Partner

  • Act as a strategic business partner, in facilitating project management team and business line managers for key commercial and financial matters.

Contract management

  • Ensure uptodate maintenance of client contracts that reflect project needs.

Administration

  • Administration of the project accounting system, including the creation and maintenance of project accounts, giving authorising access to project accounts, and opening and closing time classes in company system.

Other ad-hoc duties

  • Support internal and external audits where relevant.
  • Provide yearend support of auditor requirements, which may include investigation and reconciliation. Support adhoc assignments related to all areas of accounting and finance.

Qualifications

Academic

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, business or similar.
  • Professional qualification from a recognised body (ACCA/ CIMA/ CA/ CPA) is a strong plus.

Work experience

  • 47 years experience in a project accounting role, manufacturing or similar.

Organization

  • Diligent, attention to detail, with a strong team focus and desire to achieve results including the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.

Computer skills

  • Advance level in MS Excel and good knowledge in Power Bl, PowerPoint and Word
  • Proficient in using accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience in SAP Fl/CO, or Oracle Project Module or other similar systems.

Interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to communicate with a high degree of credibility internally across functional lines, with proven ability to work in a team environment, build consensus and foster positive relationships

Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good understanding of cost accounting processes with proven expertise on service costing
  • Possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in using spreadsheets to extract, compile, analyze and interpret data, meticulous and detailoriented.

Personal

  • Trustworthy in keeping the company's confidential matters and trade secrets_ Travel may be required on adhoc basis

Language

  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English

Pay:
RM4, RM5,000.00 per month
