We are looking for position of an Assistant to the Business Development Manager to act as a liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams.

Your role will be to seek out new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential developers/shopping centres.


To be successful in this role, you should have a knowledge of and interest in the retail market and consumer trends.

You will use your communication skills to build strong relationships with the developer from initial contact through to deal completion.

Ultimately, you will be driving sales and contributing to our long-term business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the business operations and development side of the division, from securing new potential sites and negotiating lease terms and rents, to securing good sites/locations available in the market, as well as managing and coordinating internal departmental functions.
  • To work closely with the project team and IT team on store refurbishments from layout planning and approval to ensuring budgets and costs are within forecast.
  • Work closely with Operations and Purchasing to ensure food quality and service standards meet expectations.
  • Provide ideas and market intelligence to the marketing team and Head of Department on new marketing promotions.
  • Liaise with Finance and Human Resources to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to and updated.
  • Work with managers to prepare budgets and monitor expenditures

  • Good understanding of market research techniques, data analysis and statistics methods
  • Thorough knowledge of strategic planning principles and marketing best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office and marketing software (e.g. CRM)
  • Familiarity and interest with the retail market and consumer trends
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities
  • Creativity and commercial awareness
