Finance Manager | Kuala Lumpur Purpose of the Role:
As the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of Asian Trails Malaysia and Singapore. Your primary purpose will be to provide strategic financial guidance and ensure the company's financial health and stability. By developing and implementing financial strategies, budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining stringent financial controls, you will contribute significantly to the organization's long-term growth and success. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the ideal candidate will become a part of a great team of passionate travel colleagues.
Overall responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's objectives, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including a full set of accounts, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other financial analyses to provide key insights to the management team.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance and the Management to create annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitor performance against budgets, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements, managing tax planning and filing processes effectively such as GST for Singapore and SST for Malaysia.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Qualifications, skills and requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position. Previous experience in the travel or hospitality industry will be highly regarded.
  • A deep understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Familiarity with financial software is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve outstanding results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A high level of integrity and ethical conduct in handling financial matters.
