A Snapshot of Your Day

The Generator Electrical Diagnostics Engineer will implement robotic inspections and evaluate results with senior personnel to advise on the best solutions for customers. As part of our experienced on-site Generator maintenance team, you will provide guidance to team members and execute technical tasks as needed. You will structure the day in coordination with the Generator Site Lead, ensuring timely and safe implementation of tasks with the required quality level aligned with project objectives. Throughout the day, you will communicate with project managers, outage managers, other engineers, Service Engineering, and customers to coordinate tasks, provide advice as a subject matter expert, resolve technical issues, and ensure Generator activities are completed. You will also support planning of service activities, documentation, reporting, and participation in lessons learned activities.

In addition to on-site activities, you may be involved in development activities to explore technologies that improve efficiency and quality. You will work closely with tooling facilities for maintenance of diagnostics equipment, ensuring proper working condition and quality. Safety is a constant consideration, ensuring all activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices to minimize risks.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Implement robotic inspections and specialized electrical Generator diagnosis activities, evaluating and interpreting results to Siemens Energy and international standards.
  • Advise projects and customers on the status and required maintenance of their equipment.
  • Act as subject matter expert during Generator maintenance activities, managing resources, reporting, quality, and HSE.
  • Take ownership of specialized testing equipment, including inspection and maintenance on-site and in the tooling warehouse.
  • Coordinate logistics, internal resources, and subcontractor activities on-site.
  • Prepare daily shift activities, ensure clear shift handover, and communicate job requirements to personnel and stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation and timely submission of assessment results, reports, and activity logs during outages.
  • Support outage planning activities with project engineers, project managers, and HSE professionals.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentoring for the development of Siemens Energy workforce and subcontractors.
  • Implement creative problem-solving of technical issues in alignment with Site and Project Management and applicable QHSE standards.
  • Support post-outage activities such as lesson learned documentation and feedback on demand.
What You Bring
  • Diploma/bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and at least 5 years of experience in high-voltage electrical equipment testing, electrical-mechanical systems diagnosis & maintenance, or condition assessment of Generators.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, particularly Generators, and relevant testing methods is beneficial.
  • Experience in Generator winding repair and Auxiliary systems maintenance is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of electro-mechanical maintenance and willingness to work hands-on across the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Able to read and work to drawings, specifications, and unit conversions according to international codes and standards.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Excellent digital literacy and proficiency in relevant IT applications (Microsoft Office).
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude, ready to take on additional tasks to improve the status quo.
  • Understanding of HSE and Quality requirements in the related field.
  • Creative, lifelong learner focused on generating better solutions for technical issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently or with multinational teams, in shift rotation with flexible hours.
