About the organization
This is a well-established property development company under a business conglomerate. Operating for over five decades, the company is highly regarded for its creation of high-value residential, retail, and commercial properties throughout Malaysia.
About the role
As the Financial Controller (FC), you will play a crucial role as a business partner, collaborating closely with the Group CEO. You will take on a strategic position in managing the financial aspects of the company.
As the FC, your main responsibilities will include overseeing financial management, reporting, cash flow planning, and management for both the company and its subsidiaries. You will also support the CEO and Group CFO in various corporate management activities such as project assessments, feasibility studies, financial evaluations, resource management, and internal control procedures.
Your duties will involve leading essential financial functions like accounting, reporting, financial analysis, treasury, budgeting, tax planning, and providing financial guidance to the company's leadership team. You will be in charge of ensuring accurate financial statements, accounting advice, tax compliance, and treasury operations to fulfill internal and external reporting requirements. Additionally, you will supervise the IT team to deliver IT services for the Group.
The candidate
We are seeking a candidate with a professional Accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA) or a Bachelor's degree. To qualify for this role, you must be a certified Accountant, a member of MIA, and possess a minimum of 10 years of senior accounting experience. It is essential to have a strong background in financial control with proven management skills. You should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with senior members of the organization and possess expertise in financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, accounting, and controls.
This position requires excellent communication and writing skills due to extensive stakeholder interaction, along with strong people management abilities.
