As a Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist specializing in finance within our shared services team, you will be entrusted with ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial master data critical to our operations. Your role will be pivotal in establishing robust data governance frameworks, executing data quality protocols, and supporting financial initiatives aimed at optimizing processes and informing strategic decisions.

Description


Data Governance:
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and protocols tailored specifically to financial master data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Spearhead the designation of data stewardship roles and foster collaborative efforts across finance and other departments to address data challenges and enhance data governance maturity.
Master Data Maintenance:
  • Oversee the meticulous creation, modification, and archival of financial master data records, adhering rigorously to prescribed governance standards and financial reporting needs.
  • Conduct routine audits and performance assessments to identify anomalies, duplicates, and discrepancies, rectifying them promptly to uphold data integrity.
Data Quality Management:
  • Design and implement stringent data quality benchmarks and validation mechanisms to uphold the precision and reliability of financial master data.
  • Partner closely with finance and IT teams to identify root causes of data discrepancies and implement remediation strategies, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
System Integration and Configuration:
  • Collaborate with IT counterparts to ensure seamless integration and alignment of financial master data across enterprise systems and financial applications.
  • Configure and maintain MDM software solutions, optimizing data models, workflows, and business rules to accommodate evolving financial requirements and regulatory mandates.
Training and Support:
  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions and provide ongoing support to finance personnel on master data management protocols, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed for effective data stewardship.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for financial master data-related queries, troubleshooting, and escalations, fostering a culture of data accountability and excellence.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial master data processes, leverage automation tools, and enhance data quality controls to drive operational efficiencies and mitigate risks.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in financial master data management, proactively seeking opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

Profile

  • Education : Degree in relevant field (Commerce, Finance, Accounting)
  • Experience : Minimum 2-5 years of working experience in MDM
  • Shared services experience is an added advantage
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, is a must
  • Experience in using SAP system
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese is a plus.
