Synthomer is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all plant safety requirements and participate in activities to continuously improve safety performance.
  • Lead/participate in department and site safety initiatives, including attending and leading safety meetings as assigned.
  • Comply with work procedures (SOPs), Synthomer Policies, Code of Conduct, Employee handbook, Core Values, SHEMS, SHE principles/10 golden rules, safety induction, QMS procedures and regulatory requirements to meet departmental objectives and ensure work activities are performed safely.
  • Ensure all calibrations are carried out, updated and maintain compliance to various standards.
  • Anticipate failures on plant machinery and highlight with recommendations to prevent failure to leader/manager and planner.
  • Develop a trusting and respectful relationship with manufacturing teams to ensure a shared focus on breakdown follow-up items.
  • Enforce site rules and regulations, and company safety procedures.
  • Establish, review & improve LOTO for all machinery.
  • Ensure cyber security procedures are complied with.
  • Actively participate in any site improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance of SHE requirements by contractors.
Expected Deliverables:
  • Carry out planned control & automation routine maintenance tasks to ensure plant machinery is running effectively and safely.
  • Ensure routines are completed thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Stand-by to respond to call-in for rectification of emergency breakdown/problems and work at extended hours.
  • Carry out tasks effectively, efficiently and work without direct supervision.
  • Report planned/unplanned follow-up actions to manager in order for the work orders to be closed off in a timely manner with the correct level of feedback.
  • Ensure daily communication with the manufacturing team on days to understand key issues and communicate technical issues and/or planned maintenance that could impact production.
  • Report to manager any general plant infrastructure issues with regards to buildings & services.
  • Assist superior to execute any improvement/capex projects.
  • Carry out any task assigned by superior effectively and timely.
Requirements:
  • Degree/Diploma in E&I Engineering/Science, with minimum 5 years relevant working experience.
  • AESP, ability to liaise with contractor/vendor in job execution.
  • Operation and troubleshooting of Emerson Delta V and HIMA system.
