As a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will have significant responsibility for four specialty brands/businesses, including the introduction of a global priority brand to the Malaysian market.

This newly established position holds crucial strategic importance for GSK Malaysia and will involve leading the shaping, development, and implementation of the go-to-market strategy for this pivotal segment. The Business Unit Manager will oversee sales and marketing functions, supervise four Commercial Lead/Sales & Marketing leaders, and focus on team development and capacity enhancement.

Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • P&L accountability - Establishing market sales and forecasts, recommending an optimized structure, and managing the A&P Budget effectively to seize the expanding business opportunities.
  • Leading the LOC/region/global matrix launch team in refining the core brand strategy for successful pre-launch outcomes and a world-class launch.
  • Assessing team capabilities and identifying development needs, as well as suggesting capacity building activities.
  • Developing and executing an innovative, multichannel product launch and marketing strategy to differentiate the brand(s) and drive adoption.
  • Conducting local launch readiness reviews, resolving issues, identifying critical activities, and allocating resources.
  • Establishing strong relationships with external stakeholders such as Payors, Patient Associations, KOLs, and Medical societies.
  • Creating an impactful disease awareness strategy to enhance consumer awareness.
  • Collaborating with regulatory, medical, compliance, and legal teams to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
  • Providing accurate sales forecasting based on market insights.
  • Leading cross-functional collaborations with local, regional, and global teams to optimize performance.
  • Role-modeling cross-functional collaboration within the LOC and contributing effectively as a team member.
  • Cultivating a culture of unity, promoting organizational alignment with Global brand strategies, and enabling agile teamwork.
  • Adhering to GSK policies, values, and expectations.

  • Management experience in the Pharmaceutical/Consumer industry, including brand marketing.
  • Essential people management skills; combined sales/marketing background is advantageous.
  • Expertise in developing marketing plans for new product launches with a full MCM strategy.
  • Experience in engaging with key entities such as MOH, Payers, pharmacy chains, and medical societies.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen in a complex, matrix setting.
  • Hands-on approach with business shaping abilities.
  • Strong leadership qualities fostering collaboration, open communication, and organizational flexibility.
  • Stakeholder Management experience at Regional/Global levels is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.
  • Ability to navigate complexity, ambiguity, and paradoxes.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficient presentation abilities.
