Overview

You will lead the work on some of the most popular consumer brands in the world, impacting the daily lives of nearly 2 billion people in the fastest growing region in the world. You will work for clients who not only care about success in the marketplace but are passionate about the role of brands in helping bring about social change.

Our Managing Director & SEA Growth Lead will oversee the operations and profitability of Prodigious Malaysia, ensuring a professional collaborative spirit with the Groupe's creative agencies and clients. You will also work with regional and global production leadership to grow production revenue within Southeast Asia. Your responsibilities include formulating overall growth and profit plans, including product & service strategy, operating models, training and managing people and establishing policies. You should be an analytical and thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and grow in their roles while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

Ultimately, you'll help the agency grow and thrive in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

Drive the Business Forward

Work closely with the respective stakeholders including but not limited to market CEOs, Senior Leadership Team and Prodigious SEA Managing Director to help build market leadership status for the agency.

Communicate a compelling and inspired vision and sense of core purpose for the local operation.

Work closely with brand leads at the creative agency to build trust and credibility in the Groupe's production capabilities to ensure maximum internalization of production.

Craft Excellence

Work with department leads to ensure delivery of production assets for all media platforms are delivered with the highest craft and stringent quality control.

Encourage and integrate adoption of technology including AI to create production efficiencies.

Conduct annual production capacity and capability audits to ensure we have top production talent and reshape teams when and where necessary.

Growth and New Business

Work with the SEA MD to develop a strong growth strategy for Prodigious Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

Work with the Malaysia CEO to ensure that there is a strong prospecting plan – identify targets with engagement action plan which result in maximum client satisfaction and organic revenue growth.

Provide active input into business development plans and prospects.

Work with local brands leads as well as regional/global production leads and Finance to craft production solutions, rate cards and processes for pitches and new business wins.

Client Excellence

Be a real business partner to internal and external stakeholders and provide solutions that solve their problems.

Mentor a team of account/project managers who provide a high level of servicing and solutions for clients and regional/global production needs.

Participate in performance feedback surveys/sessions from or for a client.

Financial Performance

Meet regularly with CEO/CFO/Finance Director to review overall P&L and flag issues which may have impact.

Work closely with creative agency brand leads to ensure strategic internalization of production to meet revenue commitments to production.

Ensure resourcing and rate cards deliver a satisfactory margin/profit.

Manage People, Build Effective Teams & An Engaging Culture

Working in partnership with the CTOs/HRBPs to drive an engaging, innovative, high performing and supportive culture.

Lead, inspire and give clear direction to a large team of people. Be a mentor and a people builder.

Retain people and attract fresh talent to achieve our vision and ambition in the market.

Demonstrate Publicis values, including DI&E policies, consistently to the rest of the business.

Create an engaging, collaborative and inspirational culture for your teams and business to thrive in.

Oversee day-to-day operations

Work with the Finance team to maintain budgets and optimize expenses and CAPEX.

Ensure policies and processes deliver against financial goals.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Managing Director or similar production leadership role
  • Experience in planning and budgeting and management of a P&L
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Proven people leader
