Responsibilities:

  • Team leadership role which will be managing a cluster of professionals delivering compliance services for specific countries.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of clients to deliver strong client service.
  • Ownership of the team's performance management to deliver accurate and effective indirect tax compliance services.
  • Manage the training needs for team members for a specific Cluster of countries to apply training framework of training needs with the latest development in taxation and its issues to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Manage the transition of new clients into the Centre.
  • Build strong relationships with clients.
  • Participate in client meetings to follow up on milestones and enhance efficiency in the project.
  • Able to work independently and to initiate marketing ideas to develop the service line.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking to lead the service line.
  • Review all tax submissions and tax correspondences drafted/prepared by team members.
  • Review all tasks performed by team members to ensure the tasks are performed in accordance with instructions and timelines.
  • Manage the performance of the team through regular communication, feedback, performance review, and coaching.
  • Evaluate ways to improve the workflow and optimize process effectiveness.
  • Work closely with ASPAC leadership to ensure the overall client experience is always top quality.
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

Requirements:

  • Multiple years of experience leading and managing a team is required with indirect tax scope.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Tax related function with strong exposure to VAT.
  • Strong written and spoken English language knowledge is a must.
  • Expert knowledge of value added tax (VAT) is required.
  • Experience in VAT in the ASPAC region is an advantage.
  • Ability to identify potential problems and issues and articulate them clearly to clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in VAT compliance process improvement is an advantage.
  • Curiosity and passion to find solutions to clients' needs.
