Objectives of the Position


• Provide trade control related services to BASF group companies, in accordance with established policies, guidelines and procedures.

• Interphase with various stakeholders such as supply chain, customer services and technical experts to enable the implementation of compliance policies and BASF minimum requirements.

• Continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma and digitalization are our core in driving operation excellence.

Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities

  1. Execute trade control related activities for BASF companies to ensure compliance through SAP module.
  2. Monitor product report and review compliance relevant areas against business processes predefined criteria.
  3. Evaluate and analyze product regulatory data for system and database maintenance.
  4. Verify compliance documentation required for related business process including import, export and domestic trade.
  5. Perform necessary follow up actions to ensure deliverables executed on a timely basis.
  6. Contribute to productivity, efficiency and Right First Time to achieve operation excellence.
  7. Effective communication with stakeholders as required in daily operation and timely escalation to leader on critical topics where relevant.
  8. Execute discussions independently in team and collaborate for achievement.
  9. Continuous improvement by embracing, e.g. Lean Six Sigma, technology and digitalization skills and tools.
  10. Participate in continuous improvement projects by contributing to efficiency study, analysis and implementation phase.
  11. Support internal and external audit, including Quality Checks for potential improvements and preventive measures.
  12. Review, update and improve related work documentation such as process description, work guides, etc. to ensure sustainable knowledge retention and standardization within department.
  13. Continuous self-development through proactive learning and development (70:20:10 approach).

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in scientific field, preferably in Chemistry, or related Science discipline.

Working Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in chemical regulation, product regulatory affairs or relevant work experience in Product Safety and Stewardship in Trade Control activities.
  • Experience in the field of regulations or compliance.
  • Practical experience with import and export processes is desirable.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

  • Sound knowledge and experience in Chemistry related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is preferred and experience in SAP R/3 and S/4 HANA application is an advantage.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Ability in written and spoken Chinese is an advantage.
  • Experience in technology or digital related skill or tool is an advantage, e.g. Robotic Process Automation, Power BI, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented, proactive and able to work independently.
