About This Role

The Senior Executive, Passenger Motor Car Oil – Asia Region, is responsible for driving strategic growth and market expansion across key Asian markets, including China, India, and Southeast Asia. This role requires a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, consumer trends, and regulatory environment to successfully introduce and position products in diverse markets.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with local market teams to develop and execute brand campaigns across both traditional and digital channels, ensuring alignment with regional business objectives. Additionally, the role involves working with markets to design and implement effective trade campaigns that drive distribution and sales performance.

As a regional leader, the candidate will spearhead cross-market initiatives and campaigns, fostering synergy and knowledge-sharing among key stakeholders. This role demands strong strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills to navigate complex market dynamics and engage effectively with internal teams, external partners, and senior management.

This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening brand presence, enhancing market penetration, and driving business growth for passenger motor car oil in the Asia region.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Market Landscape Analysis & Product Introduction
    • Conduct in-depth market analysis to understand industry trends, competitor strategies, and consumer behaviour across China, India, and Southeast Asia.
    • Develop and execute strategic product introduction plans tailored to the unique needs of each market, ensuring regulatory compliance and competitive positioning. Analyse data from various sources such as market reports, customer feedback, and sales performance to inform strategic decisions and refine marketing approaches.
    • Develop annual marketing plans and budgets, setting clear objectives and KPIs for each country within the region.
  2. Brand Campaign Development & Execution
    • Collaborate with local markets to design and implement compelling brand campaigns across both traditional and digital channels, ensuring consistency with global brand positioning.
    • Optimize media strategies, creative assets, and messaging to enhance brand awareness and consumer engagement.
    • Work closely with market teams to develop trade campaigns that strengthen distributor and retailer engagement, driving sales performance and market share growth.
    • Implement promotional programs, incentives, and activations to enhance product visibility and sell-through in key channels. Oversee the deployment of marketing campaigns, ensuring timely and effective implementation across all channels and markets.
    • Utilize marketing automation tools and CRM systems to manage and optimize campaigns.
    • Analyse campaign performance metrics, such as reach, engagement, conversion rates, and ROI, to continuously improve marketing efforts.
  3. Regional Campaign Leadership & Cross-Market Collaboration
    • Lead regional marketing initiatives and campaigns that bring synergy across multiple Asian markets, ensuring knowledge-sharing and best practices adoption.
    • Drive collaboration between country teams, agencies, and internal stakeholders to maximize efficiency and impact of regional initiatives.
    • Maintain and enhance the brand's image and reputation across all Asian markets.
    • Develop and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistency in messaging, visual identity, and customer experience.
    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, dealers, and strategic partners, to ensure brand alignment and support.
    • Collaborate with the Brand Research Team on brand equity studies and customer satisfaction surveys to measure brand health and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Strategic Stakeholder Management & Leadership
    • Engage and influence key internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, market teams, and external partners, to align on strategic priorities.
    • Provide thought leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure effective execution of marketing and business objectives.
    • Develop and execute a robust digital strategy, integrating influencer marketing and always-on digital content to enhance brand engagement and visibility.
    • Identify, onboard, and manage key influencers, content creators, and digital media partners to drive credibility and audience reach.
    • Ensure the brand maintains a strong digital presence through continuous optimization of content, social media strategies, and performance marketing initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of marketing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or regional role within the automotive or lubricants industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns in multiple Asian markets.
  • Strong understanding of the Asian market dynamics, consumer behavior, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and CRM systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more Asian languages is a plus.
  • Regional role exposure is an added advantage.

  • Strong Marketing strategy and brand planning skills.
  • Technically proficient in data analysis to gain insights into decision making (able to use Pivot table & Power BI is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and possess the ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively manage projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to be adaptable to changing circumstances and priorities both quickly and effectively.
  • Maturity to handle debates involving differences of opinion.
  • Digitally savvy in digital space (leveraging digital and social channels as part of business strategy).
