Get to Know the Role

Reporting to our Software Engineering Manager, you will be in the vanguard of innovation, ensuring our internal systems stay on the cutting edge. You will cover the entire development lifecycle, from design to deployment, with a focus on high-quality code and performance. Plus, there's an opportunity to contribute to back-end development, giving you a comprehensive tech experience.

This role is based on-site in our Petaling Jaya office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

1. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang within a microservices architecture.
2. You will design, develop, and maintain the front end of Grab internal portals and reusable UI components built by the TechOps Development Team.
3. You will collect and analyze user feedback, identifying areas for improvement and prioritizing feature development accordingly.
4. You will implement best practices, ensuring high-quality code and following performance, security, and accessibility standards.
5. You will optimize and enhance existing backend and frontend systems for improved performance and scalability.
6. You will maintain documentation of portal design and functionality and communicate with all stakeholders.
7. You will troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and ensure portal stability and performance.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

1. 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, writing production code.
2. Hands-on experience with frontend frameworks such as ReactJS, Micro Frontends, and Webpack.
3. Proficient in at least one backend language, such as Go, Scala, Java, C++, or others.
4. Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
5. Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control using Git, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
6. Experience working with AWS infrastructure.
