Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

As an Enterprise Cloud Support Engineer, you will be a member of our Managed Services Operation Centre team which is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining new and existing systems and infrastructure of our cloud environment. This includes ensuring that the system runs smoothly and efficiently and resolving any technical issues that may arise.

What are you accountable for?

  • Be part of the Managed Services Operation Centre Team operating 24 x 7 hours including weekends and public holidays.
  • Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, system software, and system management tools.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Respond to incoming enquiries/incident/service requests (call, e-mail, etc.), resolving and closing them within SLA.
  • Prepare monthly managed services report.
  • Perform monitoring (serving as NOC functions) for health and utilization status of systems, compute resources, network, and security devices, and system availability.
  • Perform 2nd level troubleshooting.
  • Liaise with vendors, partners, and other IT personnel in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks assigned, and deliver results in a timely manner in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

What do you need to have for this role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant field or industry certifications.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and emerging computing trends which include IaaS, PaaS, SaaS cloud offerings.
  • Understanding of common database technologies such as SQL Database/Server, Oracle, MySQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, technical writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically about troubleshooting and solutions to technical issues and incidents.
  • Willingness and ability to work with teams, build relationships using open and respectful communication and collaboration style, and share knowledge.
