  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the palm oil refinery operations.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities for cost-saving, and potential risks.
  • Provide financial insights to optimize production efficiency and profitability in the palm oil refinery.
  • Analyze cost structures, including raw material costs, operational expenses, and capital investments, specific to palm oil production.

Cost Control and Management:

  • Monitor and control production costs within the palm oil refining process.
  • Implement cost control measures to reduce wastage and increase efficiency in refining operations.
  • Work with the production team to track expenses and propose ways to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory and financial requirements, including tax regulations and environmental standards related to palm oil production.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and other relevant accounting standards.

Financial Reporting and Forecasting:

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
  • Develop financial models and forecasts to support the strategic decision-making process within the refinery operations.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial results and provide corrective action recommendations.

Working Capital and Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor cash flow management to ensure efficient use of working capital in the refinery's operations.
  • Oversee supplier payments, customer invoicing, and cash receipts in line with refinery cycles.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain departments to align financial resources with operational requirements.

Risk Management and Internal Controls:

  • Identify financial risks related to raw material price fluctuations, market conditions, and regulatory changes specific to the palm oil industry.
  • Ensure robust internal controls for financial processes, including inventory management and procurement cycles.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and profitability.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning, budgeting, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Provide financial support to cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, and supply chain management.

Strategic Business Development:

  • Provide financial insights to support business growth initiatives, including new product lines, market expansion, and potential mergers/acquisitions.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and other financial decisions to ensure long-term profitability.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance management, preferably with at least 3 years of experience in a palm oil refinery or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of palm oil refining processes, cost structures, and industry-specific financial dynamics.

Skills:

  • Excellent financial analysis, planning, and forecasting skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel) and ERP systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and financial reporting standards in Malaysia (e.g., MFRS, GST).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working across departments.
  • Familiarity with environmental, sustainability, and social governance (ESG) standards in the palm oil industry.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets and risk management related to palm oil pricing and raw material procurement.
