About the role

As a Senior Cardlink / VisionPlus Developer at HCL Technologies Malaysia SDN BHD, you will play a crucial role in Mainframe development and have a deep understanding of Card Payments and Transaction Processing Systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced CICS expertise, experience in Control-M scheduling, API, MQ, and the ability to work with JSON and HTML. This role requires strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills to engage with stakeholders and ensure seamless system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Cobol, CICS, JCL, and VSAM-based applications. Enhance and optimize Cardlink / VisionPlus functionalities for card processing, clearing, and settlement. Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support, troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Develop and support APIs and MQ-based integrations for card transactions. Work with JSON and HTML-based responses for interfacing with external systems.
  • Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot batch jobs using Control-M. Optimize scheduling to improve system efficiency and uptime.
  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot CICS transaction failures, and optimize COBOL code. Debug and resolve critical production issues related to card processing.
  • Work closely with business teams, vendors, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment of card-related functionalities. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior developers and support teams.
  • Ensure compliance with payment regulations (PCI-DSS, EMV, ISO 8583, etc.). Maintain data integrity and security standards in financial transactions.
  • Document technical designs, coding standards, and troubleshooting steps. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system stability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive hands-on experience (8+ years) in CICS expertise.
  • Strong technical skills in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and mainframe development.
  • Experience with the Control-M scheduling tool.
  • Familiarity with API and MQ integration.
  • Hands-on experience with JSON and HTML code.
  • Solid understanding of work and compliance adherence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
