Our client is a fast growing Data Center service provider, seeking for an experienced and highly organized Data Center Project Director to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data center projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations, construction, and infrastructure, with a proven track record of managing complex projects on time and within budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of data center initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  1. Project Planning and Execution:
    1. Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for data center construction, expansion, and upgrades.
    2. Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
    3. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  2. Stakeholder Management:
    1. Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications with internal teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
    2. Facilitate regular meetings to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment among stakeholders.
    3. Manage expectations and communicate project impacts, changes, and milestones effectively.
  3. Technical Oversight:
    1. Ensure all data center designs and implementations meet industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
    2. Collaborate with engineering teams to review technical specifications, equipment procurement, and installation processes.
    3. Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of data center facilities to operations teams.
    4. Proactively identify potential risks and issues, and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
    5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Budget and Resource Management:
    1. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
    2. Negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    1. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, risk registers, and meeting minutes.
    2. Provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and key decisions.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related disciplines
  2. 10+ years of experience managing data center construction, infrastructure, or upgrade projects.
  3. Proven experience with data center technologies, including power and cooling systems, networking, and server infrastructure.
  4. Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements (e.g., Uptime Institute, ISO, LEED).
  5. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  7. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet) and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence).
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  9. PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  10. Candidates with less experience might be considered for Project Manager level position.
