Manager, HR (Talent Acquisition Partner) at Hong Leong Bank

The IT Business Partner serves as a strategic business partner and dedicated "account manager" for the Business Unit within Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLBB). The successful candidate is responsible for aligning technology strategy and execution with the unique needs and strategic objectives of the bank. The IT Business Partner acts as the primary liaison between Group Technology (GT) and the business, driving innovation, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional technology solutions that enable business growth and success. This role encompasses strategic planning, technology governance, budget management, vendor oversight, and proactive relationship management with key business stakeholders. The other key responsibilities are as detailed below:

Strategic Business Partnership & Relationship Management:

  • Primary Business Liaison: Act as the single point of contact and trusted advisor between Group Technology and the Business Unit.
  • Business Account Management: Function as a dedicated "account manager" for the Business Unit.
  • Understanding the Business' specific needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Strategic Alignment: Proactively engage with business heads to understand strategic objectives and translate them into actionable technology roadmaps.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across and fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Business Planning Integration: Actively participate in strategic planning process, ensuring technology considerations are fully integrated.
  • Business-Specific Technology Roadmap: Develop and maintain a technology roadmap tailored to the unique requirements of the Business.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide expert guidance on technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and overall organizational goals.
  • Enterprise Architecture Collaboration: Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and leverage existing technology assets.
  • Capacity Planning: Oversee technology capacity planning for the Business, ensuring adequate resources to support current and future business demands.

People & Talent Management:

  • Resource Planning: Collaborate with HR to define and implement programs to address changes in resourcing, career mobility, career development, and reward/recognition initiatives within the technology team supporting the Business.
  • Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the technology team.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate strong communication and collaboration within the team and with business stakeholders.

Jobholder Requirements

Education/Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus.

Experience/Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles within the Financial Services Industry (FSI) or closely related industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully partnering with and delivering technology solutions to the Business and clients.
  • Deep understanding of FSI products, operations, services, and technology trends would be an added advantage.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

Business Acumen & Leadership:

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technology solutions and drive business value through technology.
  • Strong business acumen, with a proven ability to understand and analyze business challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in managing large-scale technology projects and initiatives, with a focus on on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Strong understanding of technology governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with budget management, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
