Position Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Software Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our mobile applications using React Native. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our mobile engineering team, responsible for building high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly apps. You will leverage Native Wind for styling, React Native Reusable as our UI library, and the Expo ecosystem (Expo EAS, Expo Router, Expo Notifications) to streamline deployment, navigation, and notifications. Additionally, you'll ensure the stability and reliability of our apps through automated testing using Maestro.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, and maintain mobile applications using React Native.
  • Utilize Native Wind to implement design-consistent, responsive, and performant UIs.
  • Incorporate React Native Reusable components to accelerate development and maintain a consistent user interface.
  • Set up, configure, and optimize Expo EAS for seamless builds, deployments, and updates.
  • Implement Expo Router for intuitive and efficient in-app navigation.
  • Integrate Expo Notifications to manage in-app and push notifications.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Define and implement test strategies using Maestro for end-to-end and integration tests.
  • Collaborate with QA to identify, document, and resolve bugs or performance issues.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver features on time.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and enforce best practices for coding and testing.
  • Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Performance & Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize app performance, ensuring efficient memory usage, smooth animations, and minimal load times.
  • Stay informed about emerging React Native and Expo features, and propose improvements to our tech stack.

Documentation & Maintenance:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for new features and workflows.
  • Ensure consistent code quality, architecture, and best practices across all mobile projects.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of software development experience, with 2+ years specifically in React Native.
  • Proficiency with Native Wind (or similar utility-first styling approaches) and React Native Reusable (or comparable UI component libraries).
  • Hands-on experience with the Expo ecosystem: Expo EAS, Expo Router, and Expo Notifications.
  • Practical knowledge of Maestro or similar mobile testing frameworks (e.g., Appium, Detox).
  • Demonstrated experience with TypeScript (if required by the project or preferred by the team).
  • Solid grasp of mobile app design patterns (e.g., MVVM, Redux) and RESTful API integrations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills—proven track record of mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cross-platform development frameworks and libraries beyond React Native.
  • Familiarity with design systems and component-driven development.
  • Prior contributions to open-source libraries or frameworks.
  • Knowledge of native iOS/Android development for deeper platform-specific optimizations.
