Operations Accounting Manager SEA

You will be a key cross-functional member of the Finance and Operations teams managing a team of site Operations Accountants to ensure consistency and compliance with global policies and to provide insightful financial guidance, analysis and reporting in Inventory and Manufacturing Costs. You will be reporting directly to Director, Operations Accounting APAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision

  • Oversee the regional Cost Accounting function.

  • Develop the regional costing personnel structure to provide analysis, processing and support to the Operations and Business functions.

• Guidance, support and analysis

  • Support the Asia Pacific Decision Support Manager (Finance).

  • Provide decision support analysis and performance measurement tools that provide insightful financial information to the businesses.

  • Advise management on issues relating to capital expenditures, financial justification of projects, production costs, production expenses, cost containment and reduction initiatives.

  • Analysis and advice on Operations projects, i.e., regional plant sourcing strategies, product costing (raw material and conversion costs), make or toll decisions.

  • Identify the causes of any differences to planned expense levels.

  • Identification and analysis of manufacturing variances and implementation of corrective actions for:

    1. Absolute Material Utilization.
    2. Purchase Price variances.
    3. Batch variances.
    4. Conversion Cost utilisation and recoveries.
    5. Inventory adjustments.

  • Coordinate development of manufacturing budgets following budget requirements.

  • Oversee submission and budget analysis. Conduct regional review of budgets with business management.

• Compliance

  • Help with SOX audit compliance and other issues raised by internal audit for inventory related issues.

  • Provide an environment of systems and procedural controls to ensure integrity of all Oracle 11i inventory transactions.

• Systems

  • Help integrate new acquisitions for the region as it relates to principal accountabilities.

  • Standardise best practice regional financial systems with global Coatings policies and requirements.

  • Standardization of Costing systems, reports and procedures across the region.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications.

• At least 6 years of accounting experience (preferably in a large corporate manufacturer).

• Demonstrated staff management skills.

• Experience with complex ERP systems (especially Oracle 11i/R12 or SAP).

• Strong analytical abilities with large volumes of data; database experience in SQL or MS Access is highly desired.

• Excellent MS Excel skills; advanced user and MS PowerPoint.
