IPC Academic Lead

The position is for the new academic year starting in August 2025.

Main purpose

The IPC Academic Lead is responsible for leading the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) across the school. This role requires working closely with teachers, leadership teams, and students to ensure high-quality teaching and learning that aligns with IPC principles and best practices.

Roles and responsibilities

1. Oversee the effective implementation of the IPC framework across all relevant year groups.
2. Ensure that the curriculum aligns with the school's educational vision, mission, and values.
3. Support teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing IPC units of work.
4. Monitor curriculum progression and ensure consistency in IPC teaching and learning.
5. Teaching & Learning Support
6. Provide guidance, training, and resources to teachers to enhance their delivery of IPC lessons.
7. Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
8. Model high-quality IPC teaching strategies and inquiry-based learning approaches.
9. Encourage cross-curricular integration and thematic learning.
10. Assessment & Reporting
11. Ensure IPC assessment strategies are effectively implemented, including formative and summative assessments.
12. Support teachers in tracking and evaluating student progress in IPC subjects.
13. Analyze assessment data to inform teaching strategies and improve learning outcomes.
14. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of student achievements in IPC.
15. Professional Development & Training
16. Organize and lead professional development sessions on IPC pedagogy, curriculum planning, and assessment.
17. Keep staff updated with the latest IPC developments, research, and best practices.
18. Provide mentorship and coaching to new and existing staff members.
19. Work closely with school leadership, subject coordinators, and teachers to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
20. Communicate effectively with parents about IPC teaching methods, assessments, and student progress.
21. Represent the school in IPC network meetings, conferences, and external collaborations.
22. Promote IPC learning through exhibitions, showcases, and student-led projects.
23. Ensure IPC resources are well-organized, maintained, and accessible for teachers.
24. Develop innovative ways to integrate technology and modern teaching strategies into IPC learning.
25. Stay updated with IPC framework changes and recommend improvements as needed.
26. Create forms, carry out and analyse parents' and students' evaluations.
27. Update and maintain booklist/teaching resources of school by liaising with teachers and librarian.
28. Organize and prepare minutes of school meetings.
29. Provide support in the area of teacher-parent/student communication.
30. Keep track of required training programs for teachers.
31. Liaise with HR to raise TNF.
32. Collect training materials from the participants.
33. Be the organizing committee for all school events.
34. Other duties as and when required by the Head of School.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field (Master's preferred).

Teaching qualification and experience in primary education.

Strong knowledge and experience with the IPC framework.

Leadership experience in curriculum coordination, teacher training, or a similar role.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Passionate about student-centered learning and inquiry-based education.
