We are offering an exciting opportunity for a driven professional looking to advance their career in a consulting environment with international exposure. The successful candidate will have a role with scope across Asia and ideally based in our Kuala Lumpur office.

In this role, you will help shape NMG Consulting's core global insights propositions, with a focus on the asset management industry. Key responsibilities include programme design and implementation within major Asian asset management markets, critical analysis and insight development, and delivery to our global clients. Over time, you will develop into a subject matter expert and trusted adviser for asset managers and wealth managers positioned or entering Asia.

Immersion in our methodologies will be critical for success, along with the ability to articulate and debate key insights. You will work closely with senior colleagues to develop insightful analysis, strengthen client relationships, contribute to consulting projects, and drive continuous improvement.

This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, who has a desire to learn and develop their communication and presentation abilities. The successful candidate will be seeking deep exposure to the asset management industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Success in this role will see the following achieved:
  • Managing key deliverables of our global asset management programmes in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, including topic coverage, insights development, analytics review and articulate critical findings to clients.
  • Collaborating with NMG specialists who manage similar programmes globally, ensuring application of global best practice.
  • Working with senior stakeholders, third-party contractors and project owners to develop and coordinate realistic project timelines and resourcing plans across multiple global insights projects, geographies and time zones.
  • Proactively maintaining and building a network of wealth and asset management industry contacts and developing rapport with key client decision makers through engagement on topics and industry themes.
  • Undertaking analysis, accessing our proprietary data sets to generate ideas and insights and contribute to NMG thought leadership.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification and strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Committed to high quality standards.
  • Highly motivated to learn, collaborate and able to learn and work effectively across global teams.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a challenging professional learning environment where communication, commercial and technical skills have been developing. Ideally with exposure to client management, product development/design, strategy or marketing functions.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be hands-on in delivering high-quality work.
  • Developing interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and interest in developing client relationships.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Experience in PowerBI as well as database management and/or other programming languages are added advantages.
  • Multi-language skills (e.g. Chinese) are an added advantage.
