We're currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as MYS CTSM KL- Assistant Vice President - Custody Operations - Asset Servicing (Hybrid) (Internal Job Title: Asset Servicing Manager - C12) based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In this role, you're expected to:

  • Provide full leadership and supervisory responsibility, operational/service leadership and direction to team(s).
  • Manage reconciling and processing positions related to Corporate Action events.
  • Identify, summarize, and accurately capture all incoming instructions pertaining to Corporate Action and proxy events.
  • Notify clients of Corporate Action and Proxy events received from vendor sources.
  • Liaise with clients on Corporate Action events to solicit instructions.
  • Reconcile, organize, and distribute all transactions relating to corporate actions, ensuring actions are processed effectively.
  • Provide support to all operational processes within the unit to ensure timely and accurate execution of client instructions.
  • Liaise with Depositories, Agents, Trustees, and Issuers to obtain requested clarification on complex Corp Action events.
  • Manage, track, and mitigate risk related to client responses and corporate action processing.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly metrics on department's performance, including detailed analysis of any processing issues.
  • Act as the initial point of escalation for problem resolution.
  • Assist management in system enhancement functions and participate in user acceptance testing as needed.
  • Develop and maintain processing procedures and oversee the execution of controls required throughout the life cycle of voluntary events.
  • Provide input on performance of staff to management and other duties as assigned.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and compliance with applicable laws.

As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • Qualifications:
  • Intermediate to senior level experience in a related role.
  • 5-8 years of relevant working experience.
  • 1-2 years people management experience.
  • Willing to work on Malaysia public holidays & extended working hours (if required).
  • Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
