Mechanical Testing & Commissioning Technician/Engineer - Data Center

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce commissioning sequence & commissioning plan as per the data center project requirement
  • Liaise with vendors & contractors to prepare commissioning test scripts required for all mechanical equipment and submit for approval
  • Manage the test script approval tracker
  • Liaise with construction team to ensure site readiness for commissioning of mechanical equipment
  • Ensure and track the commissioning activities are being carried out as per schedule by clearing any blockers that may exist on site
  • Track, record and update commissioning progress on a weekly basis
  • Chair weekly commissioning meetings with vendors, suppliers, contractor, and consultants
  • Issue weekly commissioning report
  • Manage issues and resolve them together with vendors/contractors and suppliers to ensure progress on site
  • Lead testing and commissioning factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) activities with vendors, contractors, and consultants
  • Consolidate and validate the testing reports and document them on a day-to-day basis
  • Close out of all testing & commissioning defects and hand over the final documents to the client.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Trade certificate or diploma in HVAC/Refrigeration engineering but demonstrated knowledge of cooling systems through work experience will also be accepted
  • At least 2 years testing and commissioning experience in industries such as mining, oil & gas, petrochemical or power but data center experience would be preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of chilled water systems, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, computer rooms air conditioners (CRAC's)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team and drive contractors, with good communication skills, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
