About the role
As an Account Assistant at Stellar Signature Sdn. Bhd., you will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting support to our established professional services firm. In this full-time role, you will be based in our Bandar Sunway, Selangor office, working closely with the team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in bookkeeping and small practice accounting.
What you'll be doing
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
- Preparing financial statements, such as profit and loss accounts and balance sheets, in a timely manner
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
- Providing administrative support to the accounting team as needed
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and accessible
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to the development of accounting systems and procedures
What we're looking for
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably within a small professional services firm
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and software (e.g. QuickBooks, MYOB)
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a desire to continuously improve processes
