Job Summary

The person will be in charge of the Energy Transition segment. As the team lead, he will ensure that proposals are properly prepared and presented to the various approving authorities and meet the standards required for such purposes. The investment thesis must be defendable, and the business plan carried out throughout the tenure of the investment. The role requires working closely with the Corporate Banking and Coverage team to identify potential leads and providing a Blended Finance approach to the projects.

Job Description

  • Establish financial targets for each investment and the Fund(s).
  • Maximize investment value through active participation.
  • Provide a strong investment thesis for the approving authority with clear targets, value creation, and exit plans.
  • Identify and propose potential partnerships or acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deploy capital efficiently and align with the strategic mandate.
  • Build strategic targets and value creation for investee companies.
  • Work closely with company owners to achieve investment objectives.
  • Attend board and executive committee meetings of the investee companies.
  • Comply with the Group's internal and external compliance and regulations.
  • Highlight potential breaches or possible conflicts.
  • Identify and address potential red flags for the investee companies and Fund(s).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry and financial trends.
  • Understand the Companies Act and its implications for investments.
  • Interpret and review legal agreements.
  • Work closely with Group Strategy to align with short-term and medium-term goals.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related subjects.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate finance, private equity, or renewable energy.
  • Experience in investment and strategy would be an added advantage.
  • Exposure to energy transition projects and trends.
  • Established business network.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Ability to balance between big-picture strategy and micro-level issues.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Clear articulation of ideas.
  • Ability to identify issues within an industry and company.
  • Capability to source deals and build a network.
  • Adept at working with business owners and entrepreneurs.
