Assistant Housekeeper

**BASIC FUNCTION**
Plans, organizes coordinates and supervises the general operation, cleanliness, maintenance, safety and hygiene of all areas under housekeeping and surrounding service areas. To ensure the efficient operation in the housekeeping department.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. To report to the Executive Housekeeper on the running of the Department during his/ her shift.
2. To prepare work schedules for the staff effectively.
3. Relieve in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, Rooms Manager, PA Manager and Linen Room Manager.
4. Supervise of all housekeeping areas and staff.
5. Assist the Executive Housekeeper in certain responsibility and oversees the day to day operation as established by Executive Housekeeper.
6. Ensure the requirements of highest standard of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas under Housekeeping Department are met.
7. Assist, assign and supervise any service leader in their work and handling problems.
8. Keep record and send report to Maintenance Department in writing any request for repair and follow-up these requests to ensure that they have been carried out.
9. Establish training needs for the department.
10. Train, motivate and evaluate staff accordingly.
11. Ensure that all work done according to the Department’s procedures, systems and policies.
12. Ensure that the Company’s Rules and Regulations are being followed.
13. Ensure that the keeping of all stock records, printed forms, cleaning and guest supplies are up to date and accurate.
14. Receive, store, direct and control the use of housekeeping equipment, supplies and linen.
15. Ensure that monthly inventory of linens, guest supplies, chemicals, Housekeeping equipment and office equipment are carried out accordingly.
16. Carry out continuous training on the job for all Housekeeping employees.
17. Maintain a close working relationship between Housekeeping and other departments especially Front Office and Maintenance.
18. Handle any guest complaints, missing items, damages and report to the Executive Housekeeper.
19. Check Guest Rooms for cleanliness and readiness of occupied rooms and make sure that the highest standards are met.
20. Set up cleaning schedules for Public Areas and Rooms.
21. Requisite housekeeping purchase for approval of Executive Housekeeper.
22. Schedule and supervise the shampooing of carpets of rooms and public areas.
23. Ensure that the key policies are followed accordingly - make sure there is control of in the issuing and returning of floor master keys from maids and cleaners.
24. Promote a good flow of communication with all staff and to conduct meetings in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper if necessary.
25. Carry out efficiently instructions or assignments given by the Executive Housekeeper.
26. Maximize recycling opportunities while it is not jeopardizing quality assurance.
**Salary**: From RM3,500.00 per month
