Hoopi is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support our growth in the Hoopi.

**Responsibilities**:

- Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations:

- Manage all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with accounting principles and procedures.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Internal Controls and Process Improvement:

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with the executive team to establish more effective processes and controls, ensuring the integrity of the company's ledger.
- Strategic Financial Analysis and Advisory:

- Oversee all financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial numbers and disclosures.
- Provide the executive management team with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policy making and financial strategizing.
- Summarise budget trends, analyse deficiencies, and report variances to executives.
- Cross-Border E-commerce Finance Management:

- Manage the financial aspects of Hoopi's cross-border e-commerce operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with international regulations.
- Oversee the reconciliation of payment gateways, ensuring proper accounting for transactions across multiple currencies and regions.
- Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to streamline cross-border financial processes and optimise operational efficiency.
- Taxation and Compliance:

- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local and international taxation laws and regulations relevant to Hoopi's operations.
- Ensure accurate calculation, reporting, and remittance of taxes across multiple jurisdictions, including sales tax, value-added tax (VAT), and other applicable taxes.
- Collaborate with legal and accounting professionals to ensure Hoopi's compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Ensure that the organisation meets the necessary tax, permit, and licensing requirements.
- Audit and Tax Preparation Support:

- Provide external auditors with the necessary documentation and support for financial audits.
- Take care of tax preparation duties or liaise with external tax accountants for tax preparation.
- Team Management:

- Manage and lead the finance team, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with organisational goals.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment within the finance department.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of overall combined senior accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably in the e-commerce or technology industry.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, and strategic financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of cross-border e-commerce finance, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in accounting software, and data analysis tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
