Youth Leader

_The Youth Leader role is expected to be a positive mentor to the youth and responsible in delivering holistic lessons to their students. The teacher is required to create and maintain a safe learning space for the students. The teacher role is expected to communicate with parents of their students in terms of education as well as the occasional welfare matters. _
**Responsibilities of a Youth Leader**:
- Be a mentor to youth ages 15 to 18 years old and participate as a positive role model to build and nurture character in underprivileged youth
- Plan and organize character building-focused camps & workshops that instill discipline and strong character in youths
- Follow up on students' welfare and disciplinary issues through conducting one-to-one meetings and home visits
- Evaluate youths' academic and soft skills development through termly assessments
- Build and maintain relationship with youths' parents to form a partnership in supporting youths' holistic development
- Participate actively in school activities and program which includes Dignity events
- Attend professional development courses and workshops organized by Dignity
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
**Education Requirements**:
- Qualifications in Diploma or Degree preferred
- Teaching certifications and experience in teaching or leadership preferred but not necessary
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create productive and healthy relationships
- Ability to collaborate and work with teams
- Ability to work independently
- Technical Competency Requirements:
- Knowledge and familiarity in usage of ZOOM and/or Google Classroom is required
- Computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
**Physical Requirements / Work Environment**:
- Work is normally performed in a typical school/office environment
- Travel will be required when participating in youth workshops or camps outstation
- Must be able to commit to at least 3 months of camp and be comfortable to participate in outdoor activities as required by education programs
- Young and energetic
**Salary**: RM2,700.00 - RM3,200.00 per month

COVID-19 considerations:
All personnel and students are required to wear masks when on-site. Classrooms and offices are sanitized regularly.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
