Kitchen Helper

As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen team by assisting with various tasks to ensure efficient operations and high-quality food preparation. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organize supplies, and contribute to the smooth functioning of the kitchen.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Food Preparation Assistance**:

- Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes under the guidance of chefs.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency in food quality.
- **Kitchen Cleanliness**:

- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including countertops, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- **Dishwashing and Cleaning**:

- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment.
- Keep dishwashing area clean and organized, including emptying trash and recycling bins as needed.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen supervisor or manager.
- **Supporting Kitchen Operations**:

- Assist chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods by fetching ingredients, utensils, or equipment as needed.
- Follow instructions and guidelines provided by kitchen supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- **Adherence to Safety Protocols**:

- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including proper handling of kitchen equipment and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the kitchen supervisor immediately.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Prior experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
