- The Global Trade Compliance Manager will lead AMD’s Malaysia trade compliance function by developing and maintaining a comprehensive trade compliance program ensuring compliance with all Malaysia import and export regulations.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist in the developing, maintaining and updating import and export control compliance policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, international travel, visitors, deemed exports, purchasing, shipping, proposal review and contract negotiation. The Global Trade Compliance Manager will oversee many of the day-to-day Malaysia compliance obligations of the company.
- Manage international shipments to ensure compliance with Malaysia import and export control regulations.
- Analyze specific product, software and technology characteristics to determine the correct Malaysia import and export classification. This activity will involve collaborating directly with engineering and procurement teams at AMD to determine specific requirements for import and export under Malaysia import and export laws.
- Provide export licensing determinations and facilitate the submission of export licenses required by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI).
- Serve as a point of contact in Malaysia for advice, resources, education and coordination of import and export compliance.
- Work with AMD GTC team to align Malaysia trade regulations with US and other countries’ trade regulations, as well as developing internal process with team to streamline operations for Malaysia as needed.
- Develop and deliver specific training aids, including manuals, brochures, handouts, and web-based training materials.
- Monitor Malaysia import and export legislative and regulatory changes, summarize and prepare action plans.
- May require domestic and international travel.

**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE**:

- Ten years+ of Malaysian import and export controls experience.
- Excellent import and export classification skills highly preferred.
- Strong experience with MITI Export Licensing.
- Strong experience with US export controls both EAR and ITAR.
- Requires the ability to lead, motivate and manage to accomplish project objectives within timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate and effectively communicate trade compliance information to various levels of non-technical audiences.
- Possess a high level of analysis, evaluation, and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to draw conclusions and decisions based on regulatory reasoning.
- Experience with SAP and GTS highly preferred.

**ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS**:

- Degree in an appropriate field of study, scientific or engineering background preferred.
