'¢ To verify all cashiers report (including General Cashier report) from the previous day. '¢ To audit the daily revenue and non-revenue reports (including tax, tips and clearing accounts). Computer final balancing report amounts are compared and matched with the various vouchers, recapitulations and reports. Total detail report per type of revenue and/or non-revenue should agree with the corresponding back up and the trial balance. '¢ To audit the daily payment column of the trial balance and compare it to the backup. '¢ To audit and to ensure that the daily adjustments to revenue and paid-outs completed by written explanation detailing the reason for the adjustment. '¢ To complete and verify the balances of the following reports:  Over and short report (the Controller of Assistant should be informed of any important over/short difference of more than RM50.  Advance deposit detail control report.  Guest ledger balance control report.  FO cash and F&B cash must equal the cash balance on Symphony report & Opera trial balance. '¢ To ensure all adjustments must have written details explanation include signature of the clerk and the person who gives the approval (FO Mgr, Asst. Mgr, or Dept. Head) '¢ To submit verification of adjustments and paid-outs to the Controller and General Manager for approval. '¢ To ensure that house use, complimentary room and entertainment check have been authorized properly. '¢ To audit the existence of unsettled bill at outlet on daily basis and restaurant walkouts. '¢ To coordinate with the income auditor to control the Front Office and Outlet cashier's '˜house bank' by unannounced audit. '¢ To monitor and to control the inventory of guest safe deposit boxes prepared by the Front Office Assistant Manager. '¢ To verify room rate variance report. '¢ Regularly, to verify the detail trial balance report of all guests' accounts by room number and amount. Particular care should be given to inactive accounts (no charges within the last 24 hour) in order to prevent room charge postings to unoccupied rooms not being paid and to detect walkouts. '¢ For all matters related to credit policies and procedures, such as paid-outs, rebates, credit agreements and credit cards, the income auditor should consult the credit manual in which he/she should be thoroughly familiar with.
