Overview: The primary role of Manager - OSHE is to provide leadership in the day-to-day development and execution of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment activities across the Bank; and leading work collaborations and integrations concerning any risk and compliance matters from the lens of OHSE to ensure that the Bank Group’s strategic directions, risk and compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements are fully met.
OSH Implementation:
- Ensure implementation of the OSH SOP, in accordance to bank and regulatory requirements, as well as required risk controls identified in the risk register.
- Ensure that the Legal Register is kept up to date and report on applicable regulatory changes to OSH Committee.
- Plan and implement an annual review of the Risk Register, to ensure that all hazards are identified, their risks assessed and controls identified to prevent incidents. Communicate the risks as appropriate across the organization.
- Plan and implement the annual OSH Objectives and Targets, including tracking and reporting of OSH performance at the Bank and branch/centre/location level.

- Implement a communication programme to disseminate information related to OSH, Bank’s requirements, lessons learnt and other related information across the Bank to promote OSH awareness and build a proactive safety culture.
Incident Management and Investigation.
- Working in collaboration with colleagues from other Depts/Functions, monitor the Emergency Response and Training programme across the bank and suggest improvements as requirement.
- Investigate OSH incident reports, identify appropriate corrective and preventive actions, ensure their implementation and sharing of learning across the bank as appropriate.
Environmental Compliance.
- Establish the legal register on environmental compliance requirements of the bank.
- Support compliance related to regulatory requirements.
Jobholder Requirements
- Higher Education/Bachelor degree in legal, business, accounting/audit, sustainable development, or equivalent;
- Minimum eight years of working experience with at least 3 years in a team lead capacity.
- Direct or indirect exposure in an ESG related role focusing in Human Rights in the Workplace, Occupational Health and Safety, Environment and Ethics in Business Practice will be an added advantage;
- Affinity with the financial sector and basic understanding of due diligence and (international) Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) regulations etc.;
- Certification/Licensing of Safety and Health Officer, Department of Occupational Safety and Health.
