**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead a team of 12 AP analysts.
- Extensive AP accounting knowledge and payment end-to-end processes. Ensuring compliance to company’s Accounting Policies and Procures including SOX and other Internal Controls
- Set objectives and define development plans for direct report(s) in line with department objectives
- Day to day supervision of direct report(s) and workloads.
- Ensure the proper staff backup plan is in place and timely reviewed.
- Represent JAPAC for Global AP projects. Assist and support in the assessment of impact of change initiatives.
- Standardization and simplification initiator. Identify opportunities and lead the implementation of changes to drive improvements.
- Provide guidance on accounting and other procedures as Subject Matter Expert / Center of Expertise.
- Responsible for all JAPAC AP queries and issue logs.
- Review current AP operating procedures and improve all areas of competency and service levels.
- Maintain procedures and controls documentation.
- Periodic review of SOPs and ensure all SOPs are updated in timely manner.
- Excellent stakeholders’ management and communication skills. Ability to build trust and productive relationships with business partners and finance colleagues across different cultures.
- Team’s mentorship, leadership and motivation.
**Education/ Experience/ Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting with professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of working experience in Accounts Payable or any other accounting function preferably from Shared Services environment with 3 to 4 years’ experience in leading a team.
- Proven successful project management expertise.
- Proven expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel, financial systems, and ERP systems (e.g. Concur, Coupa, JDE, OneStream).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including internal negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
- Extensive understanding of financial procedures while defining team operating standards and ensuring essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own discipline.
- Understanding of business acumen and company related products.
- Extensive understanding of related aspects of financial processes and/or systems.
- Ability to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority with guidance and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization.
- Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.
