The Assistant Manager / Manager - Procurement & Inventory plays a vital role in supporting the procurement and inventory management functions within the organization. This role is accountable for ensuring efficient and effective procurement of goods & services, meeting operational needs with optimal inventory levels. You are also anticipated to develop and implement procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, aside monitoring inventory performance.

You will play a strategic business partner role collaborating closely with your stakeholders from other functions ensuring they have appropriate resources to meet our business goals.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Procurement Support
- Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify reliable vendors and negotiate favourable terms
- Prepare and issue purchase orders with high level of accuracy and compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement requirements and facilitate timely procurement activities
- Help maintain proper procurement documentation and records for audit purposes
- Analyse suppliers’ performance and identify areas for improvement

Inventory Management

Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess and obsolete stock
- Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast inventory needs and develop replenishment strategies
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Implement inventory control measures, such as stock rotation systems and inventory tracking systems
- Analyse inventory data and identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and process improvements

Vendor Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution
- Support vendor performance evaluations and provide feedback to vendors to drive continuous improvement
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to ensure favourable pricing and service levels
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve any delivery, quality, or service-related issues

Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for streamlining procurement and inventory management processes and suggest improvements
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

**KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI)**

To be determined by the position’s reporting manager with the following factors also be taken into consideration as part of the role’s KPI:

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
- Minimum 5 - 7 years of sound experience in procurement and inventory management preferably from Retail or FMCG industry
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, inventory management techniques, and supply chain processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Proficiency in using procurement and inventory management software or systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling procurement documentation and inventory records
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
