**COO Responsibilities n Requirements**

Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead all commercial and operational aspects of the business. You will provide leadership and strategic vision to the organisation. You will bring operational, managerial, and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operation controls to the company, and effectively communicate and foster growth among the executive team. This is a vital role that will drive results, spur growth, and increase the overall efficiency of the organisation. If you are a strong leader, capable of guiding the board in identifying and implementing a future vision and strategy and are equally ambitious to make a dream of reaching the next level of growth a reality, this role is for you. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire business operations and identifying areas of shortcomings and taking remedial action for process improvement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the senior management team to implement business strategies and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, and company policies, all designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiencies in alignment with the group’s vision and mission.
- Assist the CEO in maintaining a competitive position within the industry and anticipate key trends and risks in the market.
- Partner with CFO to achieve favourable financial results concerning sales, profitability, cash flow, mergers and acquisitions, systems, reporting and controls and budgeting and accounts.
- Finance operations such as monitoring and reviewing financial/accounting performance & processes, suggesting improvements in processes, etc. in compliance with accounting standards, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
- Human Resource operations such as recruitment, training & development, staff engagement, compensation & benefits, staff performance, internal policies of all the departments and other activities.
- Administrative services, including facilities management, office administration & maintenance, and purchasing & procurement.
- Services, Risk, and Operations function, which include customer service & call centre operations, risk management processes & business continuity framework of the organisation, assessment management operations, and quality assurance (i.e., SOPs planning, documenting, and approval).
- IT functions such as digital strategies, as well as new IT projects/technologies and architecture/platforms to enhance productivity & efficiency and improve customer experience.
- Corporate Secretarial function to ensure its compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while ensuring the decisions of the Board of Directors are successfully implemented.
- Enhancing the operational team with the leadership and resources needed to complete operations objectives.
- Enforcing and implementing a company’s standards for conducting the company’s business plan, which is a written document that defines a business’s goals and how it will go about achieving them. Devised a company’s strategy in the wider marketplace.
- Review the competitiveness of the group’s products and services.
- Measure and report key metrics and performance of the Head of Departments and develop action plans to achieve goals to ensure performance results.
- Assist the CEO in maintaining a competitive position within the industry and anticipate key trends and risks in the market.
- Set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance, and profitability.
- Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with clients, vendors, banks, investors, and all other professional business relationships.
- Cultivate a growth-oriented culture that stresses ethical practices and fosters a positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Maintain a positive and ethical work climate that is conducive to attracting, retaining, and motivating top-quality employees at all levels.
- Ensure that there is an effective succession plan in place for the role and other key executives of the corporation.
- Perform other functions related to the office of the COO or as may be requested by the MD/CEO or the Board.

**Requirements**:

- 6 to 10 years of executive-level operational experience required.
- 5 years of proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer preferred.
- Strong financially, with excellent budgetary, forecasting, and future planning skills.
- Substantial general management experience; an expert in leading and inspiring sizeable teams, preferably within a fast-paced, ethically oriented, environment.
- A commercially astute, highly strategic leader with a strong and intimate focus on the customer.
