**Job Summary**

Responsible for assisting the Banquet Operations Manager in the overall administration and operations of the banquet department and to maintain the quality and consistency of service delivered to guests.

**Specifics of the Job**

1. Ensures the smooth operation of the banquet, delivering a consistent quality product and service that complies with company/hotel policies and pre-scribed standards set by the Management.

2. Participates in all activities of planning, directing, controlling and coordinating in the banquet department and also all related administrative duties as directed by the F&B Manager.

3. Coordinates with the Kitchen Chef to ensure that all necessary food arrangements and preparations are properly made.

4. Coordinates and implement all banquet set-ups.

5. Welcomes host of function and assists in any last-minute changes or arrangements in absence of the Banquet Operations Manager, Banquet Sales Manager/Executive or F&B Manager.

6. Attends to guest complaints when necessary.

7. Investigates complaints concerning banquet service and quality of food. Takes corrective action by conveying the information to the relevant Head of Department for follow-up.

8. Monitor banquet equipment used during functions and ensures cleanliness/functioning of equipment.

9. Monitor and control the costs of the department.

10. Contact banquet casual staff for specific functions when necessary.

11. Control and check attendance of all permanent and banquet casual staff.

12. Implement continuous effective skills training programme for banquet casual staff.

13. Ascertain that all functions are properly billed and paid according to instructions in the Event Orders.

14. Trains permanent and banquet casual staff according to established banqueting procedures and right use of equipment and utensils as per operations manual.

15. Ensures that the function rooms are cleared after the function and all equipment stored in their proper places.

16. Manages all outside catering functions.

17. Personally in charge of VIP functions as directed by F&B Manager.

18.Attend the Food & Beverage meeting, briefing, coordination and technical meeting in absence of Banquet Operations Manager and participates in discussions in view of operation needs.

**Salary**: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
