Swim Coach

**The RAS Swim Coach will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities;**

**PE Curriculum/Lessons**:

- Coordinates and conducts all swimming lessons and water safety programs as part of the PE Curriculum at Raffles American School.
- Ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Assist the physical education staff in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Assists the Lifeguard with any first aid procedures in the event of injury, and rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning.
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
- Plans LifeGuard’s schedule for Pool duties.

**Co-Curricular**:

- Is responsible for organizing and conducting Inter-House and Inter-School (JSAC) Swim competitions and Swim Gala Days.
- Coordinates RAS teams for JSAC Sports events. Swimming, Aquathlon plus any others as required.
- Coordinates and Conducts the RAS Swim Squad training and competitions.
- Oversees any Aquatic CCAs that take place at the RAS Swimming Pool.
- Assists the Athletic Director with other RAS CCAs and Sports Events as required.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior and attire.

**Qualifications**:

- Possess a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management or related field.
- Min 3 years experience in an international school...
- Excellent management and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently
- AustSwim or similar ‘Learn to swim’ teaching qualification.
- Current CPR and First Aid accreditation.

**Experience**:

- Teaching Learn to Swim Programs
- Coaching Swim Squad for competent and competitive swimmers.
- Organising Swim Meets.
- Proven track record as a Swim Coach.
- Maintaining safe and efficient swimming areas, facilities, and equipment.
