Production Excellence Manager

**Overview**:
Primary Production Integrator role with other department in major activities (overhaul, among production, maintenance & engineering, supply chain and sites.
- Lead the development and execution of integrated planning and scheduling strategies to optimize refinery operations.
- Oversee the coordination of production planning, scheduling, and logistics activities to maximize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of products.
- This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve business objectives
- Promote and develop production excellence, process safety practices and standardization of operational practices
- Digitalization lead/champion from Production Department
**Responsibilities**:
- **Integrated Planning Strategy**: Develop and implement integrated planning strategies that align refinery operations with business objectives, market demand, and supply chain capabilities. Coordinate with refinery management, operations, sales, and procurement teams to establish production targets and inventory levels.
- **Scheduling Optimization**: Lead the development and optimization of production schedules, considering factors such as product specifications, equipment availability, maintenance requirements, and logístical constraints. Utilize advanced scheduling tools and optimization techniques to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, logistics, and marketing, to coordinate planning and scheduling activities. Ensure alignment of production plans with supply chain capabilities and customer requirements. This includes implementing the associated internal and external audit/quality management system associated with ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification), ISO 9001, etc.
- **Performance Monitoring**: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), production metrics, and variance reports to evaluate refinery performance against targets. Analyze production data and identify opportunities for improvement in planning, scheduling, and operations.
- **Resource Optimization**: Optimize the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and raw materials, to meet production targets while minimizing costs and inventory levels. Develop strategies to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
- **ISCC and Quality Management**: Coordinate with supply chain and Sales & Marketing
- **Inventory Management**: Manage inventory levels of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to balance supply and demand. Develop inventory replenishment strategies and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance integrated planning and scheduling processes, streamline workflows, and increase operational efficiency. Implement best practices, tools, and technologies to optimize refinery operations.
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices in all planning and scheduling activities. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support regulatory audits and inspections.
- **Team Leadership**: Lead and develop a team of planning and scheduling professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.
**Job Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in refinery planning, scheduling, production management, production excellence / Continuous Improvement or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of refinery operations, process technologies, supply chain management, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in refinery planning and scheduling software, such as Aspen PIMS, Honeywell Unisim, or similar tools would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge on ISCC would be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Leadership qualities, including decision-making, problem-solving, and team-building abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance standards, and risk management practices in a refinery environment.
**Salary**: RM12,000.00 - RM20,000.00 per month
