The **Security officer** is designated to organize and all security operations of the University. Security personnel (Contract) will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.

As security officer, you will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. Since you will have a number of people under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills. The goal is to create and preserve an environment where students, staff, visitors and property are safe and well protected.

Under general direction, organizes, monitors, and supervises safety, security and Transport operations; performs a variety of technical tasks/skills relative to safety and security; provides assistance to the department head / immediate supervisor or assigned by the HOD in terms of safety security and transport.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures
- Control budgets for security & transportation operations and monitor expenses
- Recruit, train and supervise security officers, security guards and drivers
- Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
- Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
- Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
- Review reports on incidents and breaches
- Investigate and resolve issues
- Create reports for management on security status
- Analyse data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)
- To maintain all aspects of safety/security and risk management process for the company and all its assets and properties
- Analyse and evaluate overall security operations in order to identify risk opportunities for improvements
- Establish a full proposal of documented safety and security inspections, audits and checks
- Managing security incidents and to ensure prevention, detection, containment and correction of security breaches
- Ensure that all incidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented
- To build and maintain effective liaison with respective authorities, e.g. Police, Bomba community and the Management
- Plan and undertake security audits, systematic checks and carry out inspections in order to ensure all security systems/services are well maintained and full operational e.g. all access, CCTV and alarms system
- Participate in meetings when required to report on relevant security matters
- University Transport Management including Drivers and Monitoring Driver’s Duties and related to transport management responsibilities (i.e. Vehicle maintenance, road tax & insurance renewal)
- Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time
- Willing to work during holiday if required
- Willing to travel in bound and out bound

**LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Class D Driving & B2 is must.
- First Aid training, Bomba ERT Training Certification an additional advantage.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proven experience as security officer or similar position
- Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)
- Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
- Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
- Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Committed and reliable
- High school diploma; Further education in security administration or similar field will be an asset
- Applicants must possess at least a Professional Certificate/Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma or equivalent in any field
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at senior level/Captain with equivalent position or above, preferably in the armed forces
- Team lead role experience; with leading minimum four members is necessary
- Working experience with a minimum of 2 years’ service in each employment
- International experience will be an added advantage
- Required language(s): English & Bahasa Malaysia is a must. Mandarin or Tamil will be added an advantage
- Able to work with a diverse team.

**Salary**: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
