**Responsibilities**:
Lam’s Director of Manufacturing directs the development and implementation of activities maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing a high-quality product to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives, and future vision of manufacturing operations within a cross-matrixed and global organization. Success in this role requires being a leader, strategic thinker, and problem solver.
**Other Job Responsibilities**
- Responsible for providing leadership, direction and a sharp vision for high volume manufacturing in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Develop and maintain production capacity plans to address potential changes in volume and mix.
- Determine resource and reporting structure requirements to support 24/7 production; 80% of time is focused on strategic actions/thinking to increase productivity through the support and leadership of people, process and technology.
- Delegate work as necessary to remain strategic even during ramp up or busy times.
- Responsible for manufacturing cost forecast, labor, and capital plans.
- Teach Lean principles and appropriate tools and techniques and develop the ability of operations leaders to do the same.
- Manage, coach and mentor team members; hold self and others accountable to prioritizing employee development, coaching for performance and providing ongoing feedback to create high performing teams.
- Cascade vision, priorities, strategy, standard procedures, and core values across function.
- Stay relative within and outside of industry to understand trends and other factors that may impact Lam, and proactively educate and influence change as needed.
- Determine appropriate IT infrastructure, reports and dashboard systems to support overall goals.
- Implement Quality system and methodology in planning and manufacturing functions.
- Regularly evaluate performance benchmarks and drive organization to meet and exceed benchmark performance-best in class/across multi-industry.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Eight+ years related experience including basic manufacturing and low-volume, high mix as well as high-volume, low-mix lean manufacturing methodologies and assembly processes.
- Five+ years in management, with strong leadership experience and demonstrated drive for process improvement.
- Operations management experience.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Kanban.
- Must be capable of working within a controlled clean room environment and adhering to all specified gown and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Post-Covid, willing and able to travel up to 5% (domestic and international).
- Additional skills and abilities required for success in this role include proficiency with database software, MS Office, and Enterprise systems; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with internal and external customers with equal effectiveness and professionalism; being effective and well organized, disciplined and self-motivated, with the capability to balance complex processes/projects and multiple priorities under tight time constraints and within a cross-matrixed environment.
