Sous Chef

**Job Title**: Head Chef / Sous Chef

**Location**: Taman Melawati, Ulu Klang

**Position Type**: Full-Time

**Reports To**: Restaurant Manager / General Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- **Menu Development**: Create and refine innovative menu offerings to meet customer preferences. Develop seasonal menus and daily specials.
- **Cost Management**: Maintain food cost targets through efficient purchasing, portion control, and waste reduction. Analyze financial reports to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- **Supply Chain Management**: Oversee inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for quality and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts and manage deliveries to ensure optimal supply levels.
- **Kitchen Operations**: Lead kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to standards in cooking, safety, and cleanliness. Develop and enforce kitchen policies and procedures.
- **Staff Training and Development**: Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- **Menu Costing and Pricing**: Calculate recipe costs and set menu prices to achieve profitability targets. Monitor sales trends and adjust menu offerings as needed.
- **Quality Control**: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Conduct regular inspections and tasting sessions to ensure compliance with standards.
- **Customer Satisfaction**: Collaborate with front-of-house staff to address customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly. Strive to exceed customer expectations in food quality and service.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong culinary skills and creativity.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and MS Office.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
