**Summary**:
Entry level during which an employee receives both functional and organizational training under close supervision. Incumbents carry out assignments within well-defined practices, procedures and policies. Works independently on details of assignments, and has limited decision-making authority; most decisions are made or guided by the immediate supervisor. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department's/divisions goals. Works under close Supervision and requires direction on how assignments are to be executed; begins to put forward ideas on how work assignments are completed. Establishes cooperative relationships to work effectively with colleagues; supports others and participates as a team member, and takes responsibility for own work commitments. Interacts directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.

**Detailed Description**:
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

- Develops, implements and audits local and governmental compliance programs in Environmental, Health and Safety areas to provide a healthy and safe work environment.
- Prepares technical EHS operating procedures, training materials and documentations.
- Coordinates, schedules and conducts technical EHS training for employees.
- Ensures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard. Performs compliance audits and recommends corrective actions as necessary.
- Maintains log sheets, inspection records, computer monitoring data and other record keeping systems as required by the specific program areas.
- Participates in and provides leadership to safety committees, coordinates activities of subcommittees in specific areas.
- Documents meetings and implements tracking and reporting methods.
- Provides information and guidance to employees on safety and ergonomic issues.
- Conducts accident/incident investigations to determine cause.
- Recommends and implements corrective measures, performs repairs and monitors results.
- Selects and manages contractors and vendors to obtain and maintain safety equipment and supplies.

**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:

- Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, programs, and issues, including ISO 14001 requirements.
- In-depth understanding of facility operations and related issues and requirements.
- Strong record keeping and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.

**Physical Demands**:

- Duties of the position are performed in generally good working conditions with occasional exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
- Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
- Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
- Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects over 20 pounds.
