- **ACCOUNTANT GENERAL** to work onshore at Georgetown shore base.**ROLE PURPOSE**:

- The Accountant General acts as a business partner for the assigned remit, accountable for stakeholders to achieve business objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable financial reporting and compliance with laws, regulations and standards.**CORE FUNCTIONS**
- In this role you will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure all responsibilities are efficiently undertaken. Specific duties include:
- Give expert advice, offering insights, ideas and recommendations on topics that impact the business, whilst ensuring that the key messages of your expertise area are understood and followed.
- Facilitate the improvement of the organization’s processes and ensure they are in line with SBM standards.
- Execute the processes and utilize best practices necessary to accomplish your work in accordance with the business strategy of the Company.
- Adhere to the established plan/cycle.
- Challenge financial information to ensure that all viable options have been considered
- Ensure internal control compliance with the regulations and policies.
- Efficiently and effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide valuable recommendations which support business decision making.
- Adhering to agreed deadlines and due dates.
- Provide efficient, accurate and timely transactional processing and reporting
- Provide accurate and detailed information when escalating to the next level.
- Demonstrated effective interfaces within and across discipline.
- Provide Feedback to/from internal and external stakeholders.

**QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE**
- ACCA Qualified
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar function
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to understand complex transactions and key accounting procedures;
- Must be Guyanese living in Guyana.
